Changing Your Username, Email, or Password
Guide Updated: August 30, 2025
You can manage most account details from your profile pages. This guide shows where to update your email and password today, and how username changes work.
Where To Manage Your Account
- Profile Security tab: Update your email and password. Open your profile and choose Security (URL looks like
/yourusername/security
). - Forgot Password: If you’re locked out, use Forgot Password to reset via a 6‑digit email code.
Change Your Email
- Go to your profile’s Security tab.
- In Update Account Information, enter your new email address.
- Save your changes.
You may be asked to confirm the new address. Keep access to both the old and new inboxes until the change is complete.
Change Your Password
Option A: From the Security tab
- Open your profile’s Security tab.
- Enter a new password and save.
Option B: If you can’t sign in
- Go to Forgot Password from the login page.
- Enter your username or email.
- Check your inbox for a 6‑digit code from donotreply@skivecore.com.
- Enter the code and set a new password.
Tip: Use a strong, unique password. A password manager is recommended.
Important: Changing your password resets your end‑to‑end encrypted chat keys. Old private chats will no longer be readable after a reset. See E2EE explained for details.
Change Your Username
Username editing is limited to protect identity and reduce abuse. If you don’t see a username field in your profile settings yet, reach out and we can advise on options.
After You Update
- Re‑login: You may be asked to sign in again after changing sensitive info.
- 2FA: Consider enabling extra protection: Push approval + TOTP codes.
- Privacy: Review How your data is protected and our Privacy Policy.
